Swimming of a White Gorilla (2021)

Exhibited at the Cromwell Place, South Kensington, London, UK, at the RCA Contemporary Art Practice Degree show.

Woodcuts used to depict witch trials by water in the 15th century England. Contrasting the traditional perspective in which the event is seen from above, this work takes its outset in the video work ‘Floating Like a Witch’ where the viewer is invited down below the water’s surface.

Now, when I am no longer certain whether to sink or float, I am pleased by this moment not stained by the fact that both outcomes will harm us in the end.”
